1:1 Private Youth Ballet Session

Sessions are held on Wednesday evenings; times may vary. Each session is 30 minutes.

Take your game to the next level and improve your speed, agility, and quickness! Whether you are on the court, field, or diamond, every step matters. This 6-week program is designed to test, challenge, and advance your acceleration, deceleration, straight line speed, change of direction, and reactive agility.

Coach AJ has studied under and worked with Michael Blaylock, one of New Jersey’s premier athletic performance trainers. Coach AJ has learned and implements a systemic approach to improving the movement patterns that unlock speed and athleticism. He also competes on Rowan University’s club soccer team.

Coach Zach is a former Division 1 athlete, competing for Hofstra University’s Cross Country/Track & Field Team. Coach Zach understands first hand what it takes to compete at the highest level, and brings energy and enthusiasm to his classes.

This fun and active class introduces little ones to basic tumbling skills. Children will build flexibility, strength, and body awareness while learning proper technique. Each class also includes obstacle courses and games to keep them moving and engaged!

MONDAYS 4:15-4:45 PM

In this class, kids will discover the value of creativity while exploring a variety of craft projects using recycled and repurposed materials.

THURSDAYS 5:00-5:30 PM

Children will be gently introduced to the foundational positions of classical ballet. Classes move at a careful, steady pace to support proper alignment and understanding of technique. Ballet slippers are required.

WEDNESDAYS 5:45-6:15 PM

A high-energy dance class for both boys and girls! Kids will have a great time movin’ and groovin’ to upbeat music while learning fun, age-appropriate hip hop moves. This class helps develop dance technique and boosts self-confidence through exciting routines. Soft knee pads are recommended.

What’s more fun than jumping rope? In this lively class, our experienced instructor teaches kids proper jump rope technique while keeping things active, engaging, and full of energy! Great for building coordination, endurance, and confidence.

TUESDAYS 5:30-6:00 PM

This upbeat class blends creative movement with beginner hip hop, helping children explore spatial awareness and directional patterns. Dancers will build coordination and motor skills through fun music, props, and energetic routines. Parents are asked to remain outside or in the adjacent studio during class. Soft knee pads are recommended for comfort.

MONDAYS 5:00-5:30 PM

Build, create, and explore at LEGO Club! Kids will use their imagination and problem-solving skills to complete fun building challenges or free-build with friends. We provide the LEGOs—just bring your creativity! Parents are welcome to stay and assist younger builders.

Package of 5 Private Youth Ballet Sessions

This class helps children develop focus, mindfulness, and self-awareness. Through a series of sessions, participants will learn yoga poses (asanas), breathing techniques, calming practices, and positive character-building skills.

WEDNESDAYS 5:00-5:30 PM

This program is for children ages 10-13 that once successfully completed, will be able to swim laps during designated Lap Swim times. Children ages 10-13 can only use the Main Pool for lap swimming with a Youth Passport, while their parent or guardian remains in the pool area. The Youth Passport cannot be used for the Warm Water Pool during unscheduled times

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must swim 4 lengths of the pool (100 meters) non-stop and tread water for 60 seconds.
• Must come prepared with a bathing suit & goggles. Will spend approximately 10 minutes in the pool.
• Fully understand proper lap etiquette, how to pass in the lanes, and pool rules.
• Must be a West Morris Area YMCA Member

This free program is available to youth members ages 10-13. It is REQUIRED for usage of the Cardio Room & Lower Level Fitness Area. Ages 10 & 11 must also be accompanied by an adult or guardian (18+) within arm’s reach when using the facility after successfully completing the Youth Passport. A complimentary color-coded wristband will be provided upon completion of the orientation. Members may exchange their 10/11 wristband for a 12/13 wristband on or after their 12th birthday, free of charge. Any replacement fee of $10 will be applied for any lost bands.

• 14 years old and up can use the lower fitness area and cardio room without any restrictions
• 12 and 13-year-olds must complete a youth passport to use the equipment properly in the lower fitness area and the Cardio room without the supervision of an adult.
• 10 and 11-year-olds are required to complete a youth passport under the direct supervision of an adult or a parent. They must always be accompanied by an adult or a parent during the workout, either in the Cardio room and the Lower Fitness Area.
